Makes eight servings Prep time: 25 minutes Baking time: 20 minutes 12-ounce package Johnsonville Hot & Spicy or Original Recipe Breakfast Sausage 1 cup yellow cornmeal 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 eggs 1 cup milk 1/4 cup butter, melted 3/4 cup chopped red bell pepper 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Remove sausage links from casings. (Slice casing with knife and peel to remove.) In skillet, cook and crumble sausage until no longer pink; drain and set aside. In bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, combine eggs, milk and butter; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in sausage, red bell pepper and cheese. Pour into a greased 8-inch-square baking pan. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
