Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
Skinny Cooks

Ingredients:
12 sticks mozzarella string cheese, cut in half to make 24 pieces 1 large egg, beaten 2 tablespoons flour 5 tablespoon Italian seasoned bread crumbs 5 tablespoons Panko breadcrumbs 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes Cooking spray

Instructions:
Place the 24 cheese sticks separated on a cookie sheet and put them in the freezer until well frozen. Use three separate, small bowls for battering the sticks. In one bowl beat the egg. Put the flour in another small bowl. In another bowl combine the breadcrumbs, Panko crumbs, parmesan cheese and parsley. Remove the string cheese sticks from the freezer and dip into the flour, then into the beaten egg, then into the crumbs mixture. Place a layer of waxed paper on the cookie sheet and separate the battered strips on the cookie sheet. Return to freezer and keep there until all are frozen. To bake the frozen sticks, preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray on a coat of cooking oil. Put the frozen breaded sticks on the foil and spray the top of the sticks with more cooking oil. Bake 4-5 minutes until the sticks crisp up, then turn them and bake another 4-5 minutes. If you see signs of melting, remove them from the oven right away. Serve while still warm, and maybe use some spaghetti sauce for dipping. You’ll be proud of your efforts and enjoy the treats.
