Fake Steak Biscuits & Gravy
Skinny Cooks

Ingredients:

Olive oil
1 1/2 lbs. very lean hamburger
2 garlic cloves, sliced thin
1/2 t. salt
1/2 of a medium size onion, chopped
3 stalks celery, chopped
1 jar or can mushroom pieces, drained
1/2 t. black pepper
1/4 to 1/2 c. flour
Milk
2 or 3 T. A-1 Sauce
Biscuits of your choice. Tube biscuits work just fine.

Instructions:

Heat some olive oil in your skillet. Add the lean hamburger, sliced garlic, salt, chopped onion and celery to the skillet. Chop up the hamburger to remove lumps. You want the hamburger to be crumbled up. Toss and brown the hamburger.

The onions and celery will let down liquid as they are sautéed and this liquid adds great flavor to the dish. However, if you have excess grease in the skillet, pour it off.

Add the mushroom pieces, black pepper and flour. Stir this around in the skillet to lightly brown the flour. Add enough milk to cover the contents of the skillet, or a little more if you like. Stir occasionally until the milk begins to thicken and bubble. Add the A-1 Sauce and stir some more. Serve over warm biscuits and you’ll feel like the king of the biggest cattle ranch in the neighborhood.
