Mint Chocolate Ice Cream Float

Ingredients:
Two (1 ounce) squares of chocolate 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup hot water 1 (13 ounces) can of evaporated milk 1/4 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 teaspoon peppermint flavoring 1 cup cracked ice Vanilla ice cream

Instructions:
Chop the chocolate pieces into small bits and drop them into the blender. Pour the 1/2 cup of sugar into the blender, followed by the 1/2 cup of hot water. Hold your hand firmly on top of the blender and blend it for a minute or so. Add the vanilla and peppermint flavoring and the cracked ice to the blender. Again, hold the top on the blender and blend for another minute or two. Pour this into some nice serving glasses or stemware to make a nice presentation. Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of each glass full of the mint chocolate. Serve straws and soda or iced tea spoons with each glass – this lets you get every last bit of goodness from your chilled drink. If you raise some mint, you can substitute it for the peppermint flavoring and it also makes a nice garnish on top of the ice cream. You’ll enjoy this chilled treat.
