Kentucky auction featured land & quality equipment

CALHOUN, Ky. — Auctioneer Mike Melloan recently ran a sale near Calhoun, Ky., which included farmland and farm equipment. The March 2 auction featured 160 acres of land, which sold for $457,000.

Some pieces of equipment bringing quality bids were:

•JD 4850, $30,500
•JD 3020, $7,600
•3430 Spra-Coupe, $13,500
•Kinze 2300 planter, $22,000
•Blu-Jet anhydrous applicator, $5,700
•Rhino 20-foot rotary mower, $5,600
•Reel Rain Irrigation System, $10,000

Indiana farmland sells high
STOCKWELL, Ind. — Halderman Real Estate Services, Inc. recently sold 118 acres of farmland in Tippecanoe County, Ind. for a total of $410,000.

The land is located about one and one-half miles south of Stockwell and included 117.8 tillable acres. It was offered in two tracts at auction on March 28, but sold in one tract to a local investor for $410,000 or $3,474 per acre.
