Numerous educational presentations slated for Expo

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Education has always been at the heart of Ag Expo.

Whether a seed dealer uses the show to explain the features of a new hybrid to growers, a manufacturing company representative demonstrates the options available on a new tractor or a Michigan State University researcher discusses the benefits of a new management practice, everyone is on-site to help visitors learn.
This year’s show features a raft of presentations, discussions and demonstrations aimed at everyone from livestock producers to field crop growers, parents, gardeners and high school students who are considering college.

“Education is what we do at Michigan State University,” said Ruth Borger, Ph.D., director of the show. “We felt it particularly important that the educational sessions be focused on up-and-coming issues as well as ones that continue to be important to our agricultural audiences.”

Ag Expo features commercial farm equipment from throughout the Midwest and several Canadian provinces on the 35-acre main exhibition site and the 40-acre field demonstration area, as well as educational exhibits from several MSU colleges and departments.
