Massey Ferguson introduces new RK Series rotary rakes
DULUTH, Ga. — Massey Ferguson introduces the new RK Series rotary rake in three models, each designed to help hay producers optimize hay quality.

These efficient high-capacity models sweep hay or forage into a uniform windrow to match any baling or chopping application. By gently sweeping, rather than rolling the crop to the center, the Massey Ferguson RK Series rakes maximize leaf retention for optimum protein content and more valuable hay. Since these rakes gather hay rather than roll it, there is better airflow within the windrow so hay can dry faster and more evenly.

The new high-capacity RK Series of rotary rakes includes three models, one of which is sure to fit the needs of any hay operation: Model RK3824 – Single Basket, 13.5-foot right delivery; Model RK3855 – Twin Basket, 27.5 feet with either right side delivery or two single windrows; and Model RK3879 – Twin Basket, 26.6-foot center-delivery.

While the rakes are gentle on hay, they’re built tough to deliver years of reliable service. The Massey Ferguson RK Series rotary rakes feature a heavy-duty frame and are equipped with the exclusive ROTORFLEX Rotor Suspension system which lets the rakes closely follow the contour of your field through dips and over hills for a cleaner job of raking, without getting debris into the crop.

Heavy-duty, large-diameter tine arms and extra tough tines will handle the wear and tear of long hours in the field. In addition, the drive system features helical cut gears to provide more torque than straight-cut gears as well as to deliver longer driveline and rotor life.

Standard tandem wheels support the rotors as they travel across the field, allowing better ground contour, stability and flotation. The Massey Ferguson RK3855 and RK3879 feature a sturdy running gear with narrow transport and steerable rear transportation wheels, which carry the chassis and also provide greater maneuverability in the field and during road transportation.

Sealed-grease gearboxes deliver smooth movement and minimize opportunity for damage. The main drive gearboxes automatically swivel when the machine is folding to prevent damage to the driveline. A simple hydraulic system and overrunning clutches help prevent operator errors that could damage the machine.

Unique new product hides unsightly propane tanks in yards
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — It’s an innovative new product that provides homeowners with an aesthetic and permanent solution to the problem of unsightly above-ground propane tanks. The Rock Box Propane Tank Cover from Boulder Looks is a faux-rock cover that fits over standard 250-gallon propane tanks.

The product was conceived when the inventor was looking for a way to conceal an ugly tank from view in his front yard. He found the only covers available were fabric, which are not natural-looking and must be replaced every few years.

The cover features an articulated lid that rolls back when access to the tank is necessary. The covers come in five natural colors so homeowners can match them to existing landscaping or geography. The product itself weighs approximately 200 pounds, is approximately 1 inch thick and is made from a composite of fiberglass roving – a material that is higher quality than that used to make boats – isophthalic fillers and other superior quality materials that mean it will last many years, provides year-round shade for tanks and offers outstanding protection from extreme weather and temperature conditions.

The cover’s installation instructions require a 4-inch air gap minimum at the base of the cover, normally achieved through the use of landscaping bricks, which provides sufficient air flow to vent spilled or expelled gas. Additionally, the space provided above the tank by the contoured lid is designed to provide adequate clearance should the pressure relief valve deploy.

Last, the back of the lid overhangs the cover by 2 inches, providing even more air flow to vent gas and/or heat, allowing for dissipation during operation, filling or some unfortunate accident. The Rock Box Propane Tank Cover features:

?Articulated lid lifts open for easy access

?Fits a standard 250-gallon propane tank

?Significantly less expensive than a buried tank

?Permanent solution – no costly live plants to tend or replace

?Highest quality materials last for years

?Shelters tanks from extreme temperatures and weather conditions

?Choice of five custom natural stone colors

?Installs in less than 30 minutes without specialized knowledge or tools

The covers currently sell for $2,195, which includes shipping anywhere in the continental United States. They are available online at www.BoulderLooks.com
