GREENVILLE, Ohio — The Darke County Fair Little Mister and Little Miss Pageant took place Aug. 24, with the little boys starting at 6 p.m.

The girls’ competition immediately followed.

This pageant is for children ages three to five, and this year’s theme was Just Me. The competition had 20 boys and 44 girls competing for the reigning titles.

Blake, 5, and Alivia Addis, 3, are the children of Amy and Larry Addis of Gettysburg, Ohio. Dressed as cowboy and pink cowgirl, these two tried their best to answer questions like: What is your favorite cookie and animal?

Proud mother Amy smiled when reminiscing Blake before walking on stage because he told her, “Mommy, I’m going to give it my best.”

After being judged on personality, costume and originality, Blake was named the 2010 Little Mister and Alivia was named the 2010 Little Miss 1st Runner-Up.

Smiling ear-to-ear, Blake said, “I was excited.”

He couldn’t wait to share the number of prizes he won, with some including a crown, sash, trophy, new Huffy 12-inch race theme bike, Toy Story sandbox and two tickets to Eldora Speedway.

Alivia also won numerous prizes with highlights being a crown, sash, trophy, Barbie and Crayola sidewalk chalk sprayer.

Blake and 2010 Little Miss Layni Norris, daughter of Angie and Mitch Norris, will both be kindergarteners at Franklin Monroe Elementary School this year.

The little royalty continued their reign during the Great Darke County Fair and will also participate in local parades throughout the year.
