When was your chapter chartered? 1972
What classes are taught? Animal Science, Ag Mechanics, Landscape Management, Horticulture Science, Fundamentals of Agriculture, Ag Business Management and Food Science. Mrs. Bell teaches three classes for Purdue Credit and Science credit at North, they are; Advance Life Science Plants, Advance Life Science Animals, and Advance Life Science Foods.

Which contests does the chapter participate in?
Multimedia Scrapbook, Traditional Scrapbook, Public Speaking, Ag Issues, Ag Communications, Talent, Horticulture Demonstration, Animal Science Demonstration, Plant & Soil Science demonstration, Discovery Demonstration, Discovery Public Speaking, Ag Business Management Demonstration, Ag Mechanics Demonstration, livestock judging, horse judging, National Risk Management Essay contest, National Agri-Entrepreneurship Education Contest and district FFA basketball.

Highest awards given the chapter:
National Level: 2 Star Silver Chapter, On State Level: 2 Star Gold and Top Big Ten Chapters in State. Third place Project Impact for Indiana, and Anita Slominski Caring Award and first place Bridging Horizons Contest

Does the chapter have an ag plot? If so, how many acres and what crops are produced?
Yes, eight acres of either corn or soybeans we rotate each year.

What is your biggest fundraiser?
Fruit and Poinsettias in the fall of each year, and the chapter sells about 400 boxes of fruit and grows 500 poinsettias for 18 weeks in the fall in the school greenhouses. Second biggest fundraiser is the annual Spring Greenhouse sales where chapter members sell flowering baskets, flower flats, and vegetable flats one week before Mother’s Day.

What is your chapter’s strength?
Fundraising and CDEs (Career Development Event) contests.

Favorite community service project:
Trick or Trunk, Sponsoring a meal for two needy families in the North Montgomery School district. Team up with Student Council and Sunshine Society in making 30 Riley Blankets for the Riley’s Children Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind. The chapter also holds an FFA Farm Safety Day program every other year for the fourth graders of North Montgomery schools, then on the following years we host an FFA petting zoo for grades first-third.

Does the chapter do any projects at or for the school? Describe:
The FFA chapter has landscaped the North end of the high school by installing raised flower beds and also went in with other clubs/organizations at school to purchase benches for students to sit on while waiting for the bus.  

Unique Fact:
North Montgomery FFA is a mixture of students who are from farms and non-farm families. Students from grades 6th-12th are welcomed into the chapter.
