Oct. 8-10: “Experience the Farm” at Kelsay Farms at 6848 North CR 250E, Whiteland, Ind., each weekend this month. Dairy farm tours, corn maze, hayrides, children’s games from 6-10 p.m. Fri., noon-10 p.m. Sat. and noon-6 p.m. Sun. Admission is $7 each for anyone over age 1. Visit www.kelsayfarms.com

Oct. 9-10: Vogt’s 15th annual Pumpkin Festival will take place at the Vogt Farm in Batesville, Ind., at 12115 N. S.R. 129. Admission and parking are free. Activities include horse-drawn trolley rides, games, crafts, pick your own pumpkin, corn maze, pony and paddle boat rides and a petting zoo. Contact Jerry Vogt at 812-934-4627.

Oct. 14: Purdue University Extension will offer the Beginner’s Guide to Grant Writing Workshop to help grant writers of all skill levels prepare and submit a professional grant proposal. The workshop takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Fayette, Hancock, Harrison, Hendricks, Huntington, Montgomery and Tipton counties.
