What classes are taught to FFA members? Advanced Life Science: Animals, Agribusiness Management, Animal Science, Food Science, Fundamentals of Agriculture, Horticulture, Landscaping, Natural Resources Management and Plant & Soil Science

What contests does the chapter participate in? Dairy Cattle Judging, Dairy Foods, Demonstrations, Forestry, Exhibit, Horse & Pony Judging, Livestock Judging, Parliamentary Procedure, Public Speaking, Scrapbook and Soils Evaluation.

Favorite community service project? Kindergarten Farm Tours is the Scottsburg FFA Chapter’s favorite community service project. Each spring, all Kindergarten students in the school district travel to a local farm, owned by Danny and Sue Smith, where FFA members are provided the opportunities to educate the youth on agriculture and farm safety. Using animals provided by FFA members students are able to learn about where their food comes from, they are read a story, view an agriculture safety demonstration, plant tomato seeds and enjoy a hayride.

What is your biggest fundraiser? Fruit Sales and Food Booth at the Scott County Fair

What is your chapter’s strength? The members’ commitment to improving the chapter, the program of activities, and the perception of FFA and agriculture in the community.

Most unique fact about your chapter? Indiana FFA State President Morgan Dawson is from the Scottsburg FFA Chapter.
