RICHMOND, Ind. — Harvest Land Co-op recently named Scott Logue to serve as the company’s president and CEO.

Harvest Land is an agribusiness owned cooperatively by farmers in Indiana and Ohio. It has locations in 17 counties and services the surrounding counties. Organized in the late 1920s, the co-op continues to specialize in providing farmers with products and services they need to work effectively and profitably.

“Harvest Land is one of Land O’Lakes, CHS (Inc.) and CountryMark’s top member cooperatives, with a proud history and tradition as its foundation,” Logue said. “It’s a great honor to have an even greater opportunity to build on its success.”

Logue hopes to continue the pattern of strong growth which the cooperative has experienced over the last several years in its core businesses: agronomy, energy and grain.

“We want to continue to look at new opportunities for our customers and members, and we want to be able to bring them the latest technologies and services that they need,” he said.

Logue grew up on a family grain and swine farm in Liberty, Ind., which his family still operates. He began work at Harvest Land after graduation from Ball State University. Logue has served since 2007 as a region manager, crop nutrient manager and transportation manager, and seven years as the Hagerstown, Ind., location’s agricultural center manager.

Gene Tapalman, Harvest Land’s board chair, said the board selected Logue based on his track record of being a visionary leader and service-focused manager. Logue will assume his new duties Sept. 1. He succeeds Keith O. Applegeet, who will be retiring after serving as president and CEO of Ag One Co-op and then Harvest Land Co-op, after the 2007 merger between the two co-ops.
