WINCHESTER, Ind. — The planners of Cardinal Ethanol, a 100 million gallon per year ethanol production facility will host its groundbreaking at 10 a.m., Oct. 17 at its site on State Road 32 and County Road 600 near Harrisville, Ind.
Cardinal Ethanol President Troy Prescott said the facility will generate a need for 36 million bushels of corn per year. He estimates the plant will have 45 full-time employees with an estimated annual salary of $2.4 million.
As a co-product of ethanol, the plant will produce 340,000 tons of distillers dried grains with soluables per year. This will be marketed to livestock and poultry producers as a value-added nutritional supplement.
