Hannibal’s 30th Autumn Historic Folklife Festival
By TIM ALEXANDER
Illinois Correspondent

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal Arts Council and Chamber of Commerce hosted its 30th annual Autumn Historic Folklife Festival Oct. 21-22 on the streets of Hannibal, childhood home of Samuel L. Clemens (Mark Twain).

More than 100 craft and vendor booths lined the town’s historic downtown streets, while food booths offered delights such as catfish sandwiches, cowboy stew, homemade cookies and fudge, chicken and noodles, bread pudding, Mississippi white chili, applesauce donuts and ham and beans with cornbread.

Approximately 10,000 visitors from around the Midwest attended, nearly doubling the population of Hannibal, which is located next to the Mississippi River in eastern Missouri.
