Self-drive Ohio farm tour covers Ashland County

JEROMESVILLE, Ohio — The 2007 Ashland County Drive-It-Yourself Farm Tour offers a look at a variety of the county’s agricultural enterprises.

Sponsored by the Ashland County Farm Bureau, the tour will be Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, Sept. 30 from 12:30-6 p.m.

Stop one is Cliff’s Greenhouse and Garden Center, 323 State Road 60 in Polk, Ohio. From there, the tour heads to the Pine Hill Park, Crall Woods at SR 224 and TR 1601 and Pine Hill Park, Sauers Farm SR 224 and TR 1601.

The next stop is Finnish Farm, home of Huacaya Alpacas, located at 1486 TR 126, Greenwich, Ohio. Galloway Farms, located at 1183 U.S. 224, Greenwich is the next stop. This farm markets feeders, stockers and finished beef.

Silver Spur Stables an equine boarding and training facility located at 337 CR 1171, Nova is the next stop, followed by a stop at Echo Point Farm located at 1219 TR 346 Nova, Ohio for a look at Pygmy Goats. Rohr’s Lake at 1100 TR 346, Nova, Ohio features beef cattle as well as hay, a paylake, camping and live fish sold for stocking your pond.

The next stop is Falling Star Dairy Farm at 626 SR 89, Polk and the tour concludes with a stop at RQH Performance Horses located at 606 CR 801, Ashland.

Food will be available on the tour.
