GIFFORD, Ill. — Organizers are busy preparing for the 2006 Midwest Ag Expo, scheduled for Jan. 25-26 near Champaign and featuring 191 dealers.

Show manager Gary Manke said those attending the Expo can expect to see the latest in tractors and farming equipment, seed technology, precision farming, livestock and forage machinery, trucks, trailers and lawn and garden equipment.

“AgSource Seeds will be promoting its new corn hybrids available for the 2006 growing season, among other new innovations,” Manke said of the new technology available to visitors to preview at the show. “The technology is changing rapidly.”

Other dealers/exhibitors displaying goods and technology new for the 2006 season include AMVAC Chemical, who will present Bolster 15-G Soil Nematicide and Impact herbicide, Birkey’s Farm Store, with new CASE-IH machinery parts and New Holland machinery, Kubota tractors, utility vehicles, and lawn mowers, and Cicero P. Sweeny, who will showcase hand, power, and air tools.

D & J Trailers will exhibit new grain trailers and lawn equipment, while Dow AgroSciences/Mycogen Seeds will offer new herbicides. Eastern Illini Electrical Cooperative will feature a live line demonstration, and Fast Sprayers will showcase their new offerings. Hotsy Equipment will be on hand showing off new pressure washer models, detergents, and accessories, while ICORN will offer their new Cross-Check Pro web-based seed corn hybrid sorting tool.

In addition, Kitchen Seed Co., LG Seeds, Linco Equipment Co., Power Equipment Distributors, Shields Auto Center, SI Distributing Co., Stoller’s Implement, T-L Irrigation Co., and U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Brands, Inc., will feature the latest products from their companies.

The 2006 Midwest Ag Expo is located at Gordyville, USA near Gifford in east-central Illinois. Gordyville is 20 miles northeast of Champaign and five miles east of Rantoul on Rt. 136. Show hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 25, and 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Thurs., Jan 26.
