Bidders braved cold, snow at Indiana auction
RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. — Despite cold weather and lots of snow, auctioneer Bill Harter reported 90 registered bidders at an auction Dec. 10, 2005 in Randolph County, Ind.

Some items bringing high bids at the court-ordered sale included:

•2002 Chevrolet half-ton pickup with 111,650 miles and a bad transmission, $13,250
•1950 8N Ford tractor, motor locked up, $800
•1992 Circle T 2-horse trailer with bumper hitch, $2,200
•Bush Hog TH 72 mower, $350
•Ford 4000 gas tractor with Kelley scoop loader, $5,600
•Ford suitcase front weights, set of eight, $220
•Aged 14-year-old registered Tennessee Walking Horse mare, $1,000
•Aged 15-year-old registered Tennessee Walking Horse mare, $600

Indiana farmland sells at auctions
DAYTON, Ind. — Halderman Real Estate Services, Inc. recently offered more than 180 acres of Tippecanoe County recreational land, building sites and farmland in five parcels at auction.

The 185.2 acres sold in two parcels on Jan. 24 for $726,000. Parcel 1 included 24 acres (all tillable) and sold for $145,000, $6,401 per acre, to a local commercial investor. Parcel 2 included 161.2 acres (97.3 tillable and 47.6 wooded acres) and sold for $581,000, $3,604 per acre, to a local investor.

Halderman Real Estate Services also sold another 105.2 acres of cropland with woods in northern Indiana at auction on Jan. 25. The land, located near Knox, Ind. in Starke County, sold in three parcels for $304,000.

Parcels 1 and 2 sold to a local farmer and included 65.2 acres (53 tillable) for $115,000, $1,763 per acre, and 80 acres (mostly tillable) for $150,000, $1,875 per acre.

Parcel 3 sold to a local investor and included 40 acres (26.3 tillable and 12.7 wooded) for $154,000, $3,850 per acre.

Farmall tractors sell at auction
VERSAILLES, Ohio — Auctioneer Larry Martino of Versailles Auction, LLC ran a successful December 31, 2005 just north of Versailles, Ohio.

He reported on the sale of two Farmall tractors, both bringing good prices. A 1939 Farmall H with new paint brought $2,250. A Farmall 140 tractor in good shape sold for $2,100.
