NATIONAL
Oct. 7-9: National Angus Conference and Tour is set to take place in Oklahoma City, Okla. “125 years – the challenges of the next decade” will focus on production, marketing and performance. Register online at www.angus.com or call 816-383-5100.

ILLINOIS
Sept. 25: The University of Kentucky College of Agriculture Robinson Station will host a field day in Quicksand, Ill. Topics on this tour, which is limited to 50 people, include re-establishing American chestnut trees and black bears in eastern Kentucky. More traditional field day tours begin at 3:30 p.m. and include horticulture, plant and soil sciences and the Wood Utilization Center. Oct. 3: The seventh University of Illinois Extension sustainable agriculture tour will visit Mill Creek Farm in Quincy, Ill. Registration is required at least one week in advance. INDIANA

Sept. 27-28: The 46th annual Ohio Gourd Show will be held at the Darke County Fairgrounds, Greenville, Ohio.  The Show features thousands of dry and fresh gourds, decorated and undecorated, exhibited in a competition of 145 classes and for sale. For more information call 937-547-0025.
