FFA license plate sales will reward county programs
By NANCY VORIS
Indiana Correspondent

TRAFALGAR, Ind. — There’s nothing like a friendly competition to boost community spirit, and state FFA leaders are hoping a county contest for FFA license plate sales will fire up their scholarship program in 2006.

This year $500 is being presented to the top three counties that sell the most license plates.

The award will be split among the FFA chapters in the county.

Since the program began, $20,000 has been raised annually to award scholarships to FFA members attending a college, university or technical school.

“Over the past few years, we have had strong license plate sales,” said Brian Buchanan, executive director of the Indiana FFA Foundation.

“We are looking to strengthen this program for our students’ benefit. It is a great way for local communities to rally support for FFA both financially and showing their pride for the organization.”

To purchase an FFA plate, simply ask for the plate at any local license branch. The plate requires no form of approval. The cost is $40, with $25 going directly to the FFA Scholarship Program.

For more information, contact the FFA staff at 317-878-5464.
