Ft. Recovery FFA hosts annual Community Ag Breakfast
FT. RECOVERY, Ohio — The Ft. Recovery FFA Chapter held its annual Community Ag Breakfast during National FFA Week in the Ft. Recovery High School Commons Area. FFA members served approximately 300 breakfasts for local ag business leaders, community leaders, teachers, parents, and FFA members to show appreciation for all their support.

Members prepared scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes for all to enjoy.  This event allows the FFA to treat and thank those who support the Ft. Recovery FFA Chapter year after year.  A special thanks to Fort Recovery Equity for donating the eggs, to Helen Aisenbrey, high school head cook, for her continued help and support, Farm Credit Services for donating cups & napkins, and to Tom & Cheryl Tobe for their donation.

Ft. Recovery celebrates FFA Week with tractor drive-in
FT. RECOVERY, Ohio — To celebrate National FFA Week, the Ft. Recovery FFA Chapter held a truck and tractor drive-in to help promote agriculture and the National FFA Organization.

Forty-six FFA members drove in tractors to win the following: cleanest, biggest, smallest, newest, best restored, and most hours. Greg Lennartz won first in the cleanest category, while Josh Overman tied for first in the biggest category with Matt Wendel with a Case IH STX 450. Mitch Link won the smallest category with a 18 horsepower New Holland TC21D. The newest award went to Craig Kaiser with 13 hours. Kevin Jutte won best restored with his AC WD45. Aaron Will won first in the most hours category with 616 hours.
Forty-two FFA members also drove in trucks to win the following: cleanest, junkiest, dirtiest, newest, most miles, and loudest. First place in the cleanest truck category was awarded to Matt Wendel. First in the junkiest category was awarded to Nathan Metzger. First place in the dirtiest truck category was awarded to Dave Osterholt. Ryan Link won the newest category. Chris Gehret drove in the truck with the most miles.  In the loudest category Zach Timmerman won first place.

Ohio FFA Alumni hosts 37th annual business meeting
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ron Tilford, president, conducted the business meeting of the Ohio FFA Alumni Association Convention recently held in Columbus.

The FFA Alumni Association is an organization that supports and serves agricultural education programs and the FFA in Ohio and across the nation. The following alumni affiliates and members received plaques during the awards session: Agricultural Education Promotional Award – 1st, Hardin Northern, 2nd, Pettisville, 3rd - Anthony Wayne.

Coaching award for dedicating time to assist in coaching career development events for individuals and teams - 1st - Anthony Wayne and 2nd – Federal Hocking.

Named as the 2008 Outstanding Member in 1st was Marilyn Mason, Anthony Wayne, in 2nd Jodi Hassan, Hardin Northern, in 3rd Jan Christenson, Pettisville, in 4th Edward Beeler, Talawanda, and 5th place went to Gary Dilinger, Federal Hocking.
