Glascock boasting an extensive product line & customer service

VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — Back in 1965, Loren Glascock, now 65, had a horse trailer he needed to sell, along with a few other items, and it went so well that the seed for a new business germinated.

“I realized pretty early that being in agriculture is what I always enjoyed doing. I went to electronics school, which certainly helped, but I just always took to selling and helping people,” said Glascock, who, with his wife, Janice, opened Glascock Equipment & Sales in 1976 in their backyard.

Two years later, they moved the business to a 4.2-acre site right off State Route 72 in Veedersburg, and have since added a couple more acres to the operation.
They now employ 15 people full-time and have two part-timers as well. You won’t find new tractors or new combines at Glascock, but you’ll find just about any other type of equipment piece, new or used.

“We’d be called a short-line dealer, and we have tremendous service people and we always treat people fairly, which is why we have a lot of repeat customers. People do know we’ll treat them fairly,” Glascock said.

He said dealers have said his business ranks as the top-selling outlet for MacDon products in the tri-state of Indiana, Illinois and Michigan.

Glascock explained he regularly attends the Indiana-Illinois Farm and Outdoor Power Equipment Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds because “it may not be the largest show out there, but the people who attend are quality people who are looking for good products from other quality people.

“It’s always been a good show overall, which is why we support it and keep going,” he added. According to show organizers, Glascock has exhibited at this show since its first year.

In addition to a long list of MacDon products, the company boasts a lineup of used tractors, wagons, tillage equipment, grain-handling items, mowers, sprayers, fencing equipment and all kinds of livestock equipment.

What they might not have in stock, they can obtain quickly, Glascock said. Go to www.gesales.com for more detailed information on items available, or call 800-228-2256. The business is located at 736 W. SR 32.
