Farm World moving delivery date from Thursday to Friday

Starting with this issue; Farm World will be changing its publication date from Thursdays to Fridays. This change is being made because the Postal Service is changing its service standards for certain First-Class Mail and Periodicals. Farm World is mailed under periodical postage rates. This change will add one to two days to mailing times.
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, and other postal executives, have stressed the need to cut costs and modernize the agency’s operations. Under current standards, the USPS has said “The basic logic of the changes is that the addition of one or two days to current service standards for First-Class Mail and Periodicals would enable the Postal Service to convey a greater volume of mail within the contiguous United States by surface transportation, thereby achieving a better balance of on-time reliability and cost-effectiveness”.
The changes were published in the Federal Register on August 11, 2021. The changes will go into effect Oct. 1, 2021.
The advertising and classified advertising deadlines for Farm World will not change. Farm World prints and mails the paper on Monday each week and goes to substantial expense sorting and bundling the papers for maximum delivery. This also will not change.
Some readers will continue to receive Farm World on Thursdays, but we are anticipating with the changes to the postal system most people will receive the paper on Fridays. Please call 1-800-876-5133 for late delivery problems.
