BLUFFTON, Indiana – Neu-Hope Dairy, owned by brothers Alex and Kip Neuenschwander, will be honored at the Indianapolis 500 on May 28 as this year’s “Rookie Milk Person.” Alex will hand the time-honored bottle of milk to the winning chief mechanic and team owner. Last year’s Rookie Milk Person, Kerry Estes of Estes Dairy Farm, New Palestine, Ind., will hand his bottle to the winner of the 107th race. Alex said he felt “very privileged to be chosen. I am happy to serve as an advocate on the Milk Platform for the two-year term.” This milk tradition began in 1956. The American Dairy Association Indiana (ADAI) selects a milk producer who applied for this coveted honor and is then chosen by fellow dairy farmers. The ADIA represents Indiana dairy farm families and coined the phrase “Winners Drink Milk.”
