Iowa fruit growers in many counties are eligible for 2012 disaster assistance, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS).
Jason Henderson, associate dean in the College of Agriculture and Director of Purdue University extension, said the "rural economy in general is doing well, especially those who are tied to commodity markets."
