Allen County Fair winners go to Indiana State Fair

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Three “Make it With Wool” contest winners represented Allen County at the State Fair. Winners include Pre-Teen: Katie Lael of Fort Wayne, Senior: Anna Wellman of New Haven and Adult: Gail Altekruse of Fort Wayne.

Pie winners include: Single Crust Champion Rise Vanderburgh of Fort Wayne – blueberry; Double Crust Champion Norma Johnson of Zanesville – rhubarb; Double Crust Reserve Champion Donna Koch of Fort Wayne – elderberry peach; Lattice Crust Champion Rita Griffith of Churubusco – cherry; and Lattice Crust Reserve Champion Lorna McComb of Fort Wayne – apple surprise.

Four winners represented Allen County in the Adult Fashion Show, “Showcase of Fashions” on Aug. 15. Winners include: Separates, Katie Potter of New Haven; My Choice, Donna Koch of Fort Wayne; and Sewing for Others/Children’s Garments, Ages 0-5, model Addison Myers and seamstress Deb Myers of Fort Wayne.
