New e-Barrier Wheel Seal defies incorrect installation DRY BRANCH, Ga. — The fourth generation of heavy duty truck and trailer wheel seals has been introduced by CHAMP Seals.
The new e-Barrier Wheel Seal, developed with installation simplicity in mind, can be installed by hand, other manufacturer’s tools or any other tool that can fit the seal into the hub.
One of the primary reasons for premature wheel seal failures is incorrect installation of the seal. The e-Barrier features 150 percent thicker steel than competitive seal manufacturers, ensuring the seal can stand up to real world abuse. In addition, it has a unique ‘safety zone’ feature, which allows for some distortion of the seal front face without affecting the seal performance.
Additional major benefits of the e-Barrier Seal include:
•A unique low-friction bumper which ensures low seal friction from the outset. Less friction translates to a decrease in required torque and lower temperatures.
•A multi-zone labyrinth design in the e-Barrier seal provides the most effective protection against dirt, grit, water and ice. The combination of low profile sections, right angle corners, low friction barrier, two rubber wipers and a specifically formulated waterproof grease to lubricate and keep water out, ensures this seal will perform without any “run-in” period.
The advanced technology used to manufacture the e-Barrier Seal allows cost savings of as much as 20 percent over other major manufacturers’ seals, and there is no tool investment required. The seven sizes currently available cover 80 percent of all seal usage.

Terex debuts PT-100G and Forestry compact track loaders SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — With power and performance to outperform the competition, Terex introduces its newest compact track loader models: the PT-100G and PT-100G Forestry. The largest compact track loaders in the Terex lineup, these new models offer operators a 14.6 percent increase in tractive effort in low gear for more pushing power, a 32 percent increase in horsepower to the attachment, a redesigned loader arm to achieve greater reach and 13 percent more bucket breakout force over their predecessors.
“We continue to enhance our compact track loader lineup based on feedback from our distributors and customers,” said Del Carver, area director, North America Compact, Terex Construction. “Our goal with the new PT-100G models was to keep the attributes that have made the previous machines so popular with our customers, while enhancing features to exceed the market’s expectations.”
These models boast a class-leading 99.9-hp engine and 310 pounds per feet of torque, the most in the CTL industry. New to the PT-100G models, the cooling fan blades will automatically adjust to provide optimum airflow while minimizing engine horsepower consumption. These newest Terex loaders have an operating weight of 11,400 pounds, a tipping load of 8,000 pounds – with a 4,000-pound operating capacity at 50 percent tipping load capacity – and a lift height of 125 inches.
The new loaders are designed to maximize work in limited access areas. And with a low 4 psi ground pressure, these machines can easily work on soft or sensitive surfaces with minimal damage or impact. The new PT-100G models include the Terex patented Posi-Track undercarriage technology and suspension for the smoothest ride available in the industry.
Both the PT-100G and PT-100G Forestry loaders are designed with front-mounted quick-connect hydraulic fittings and an electronic connector for control of attachments, enabling them to use virtually any industry-standard attachment. These models are also equipped with electronic-over-hydraulic pilot-operated joystick controls and a comfortable operator station for easy operation.
