By JANE HOUIN Ohio Correspondent KENTON, Ohio — For over 100 years, Morton Buildings has been the go-to business for people looking to add an attractive, long-lasting building to their property. And over that time, the hallmark of their business has been quality and customer service.
Morton specializes in constructing only high-quality, post-frame or “timber frame” structures. That means customers get the flexibility they want, and need, in a building.
Although they now build a variety of structures, from church buildings to pole barns, the roots of the Morton business are deep in the agricultural industry. Back in 1903 when the company started, their business was selling fencing to farmers via mail order. And by 1949 their business had grown to include machine storage buildings for farm use.
In order to maintain the high-quality standards of their materials and components, they manufacture most of their building components in-house in six manufacturing plants across the country.
This commitment to quality has contributed to making their business America’s leader for post-frame construction with over 100 construction centers and sales offices in 36 states.
“What separates us from our competition on the quality side is that we will not sacrifice quality for cost,” said Lawrence Cole, construction center manager at the Kenton and Greenville, Ohio facilities.
“That, along with the passion and commitment of our employees. We’re a family-owned business and most of them have been here 20-plus years. That experience shows.”
Part of what sets their business apart is the service provided by their sales consultants, who work with customers every step of the way, from concept to completion. Their sales consultants are experts in timelines, permitting requirements and even financing.
Morton utilizes the services of Allied Design Architectural & Engineering Group to provide certified design and engineering in the planning phase. Once the plans are complete, the construction estimating crew ensures all materials are shipped to a local plant then delivered and unloaded directly to the customer’s site.
Once there, the Morton construction crew utilizes efficient and safe construction methods from the ground up, according to Cole. |
