9,698-acre Oklahoma ranch to be auctioned

LAVERNE, Okla. — DF&D Ranch, a northwest Oklahoma ranch that includes 2,700 irrigated acres and 6,920 acres of grassland, will sell at auction Wednesday, April 13.

The ranch, which will sell in 14 tracts, also includes calving facilities and two homes, according to R.D. Schrader, president of Schrader Real Estate & Auction Co,, which will conduct the auction.

“The owners of DF&D Ranch in recent years have developed more than 2,700 acres to center pivot irrigation, and this ranch has some of the highest producing irrigation wells in the region. Approximately 876 acres are newly seeded in alfalfa,” said Schrader.

The ranch has an extensive perimeter and cross fencing.
It is located approximately nine miles north of Laverne and 65 miles south of Dodge City, Kan.

“Some of the tracts have excellent hunting and have been used by outfitters for commercial hunts” said Schrader.

The deeded land will be sold in tracts ranging from 54 acres to 1,485 acres. Approximately 2,320 acres are leased from the state and will be offered as a single tract.

“By offering the land in tracts, we will be able to provide a level playing field on which larger and smaller bidders alike can compete for the tracts that best meet their needs,” said Schrader.

Auction personnel will be available to provide information and offer inspections on April 4-5 and April 12. Times and locations are provided at www. schraderauction.com or may be obtained by calling 800-451-2709.
The auction will begin at 10 a.m., April 13, at the Laverne School Farm Building, 701 S. County Line Road, Laverne, Okla.
