Rochester farmer wins sightseeing trip to Europe NEW HOLLAND, Pa. — Ron and Cindy Clauson of Rochester, Ind., joined four other couples from the United States and Canada on a seven-day trip to Europe as winners of the New Holland Combine European Trip Giveaway promotion.
As guests of New Holland, the group spent three days enjoying the fine cuisine and sights for which Paris is famous. They then traveled by train through the European countryside to Zedelgem, Belgium, home of the manufacturing facility where New Holland Super-Conventional and Rotary combines, self-propelled forage harvesters and large square balers are made for distribution throughout the world.
At the Zedelgem plant, the group witnessed the state-of-the-art manufacturing process and had the opportunity to provide feedback to the engineers who design New Holland CX and CR Series combines, FR Series forage harvesters and large square balers.
FMC announces winner of $10,000 ‘Bag More Bucks’ PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — FMC Corp. announced Daniel Bender of Poseyville, Ind., as the 2010 winner in the “Bag More Bucks with FMC” contest. Bender won the grand prize of a $10,000 Cabela’s gift card.
The open contest for all growers included collected entries from several trade shows in 2010. Bag More Bucks was a trade show opportunity, with the grand prize winner selected from all collected entries. During each individual event, daily winners were drawn to win a $250 Cabela’s gift card.
Bender uses Capture LFR insecticide to fight cutworms, wireworms and grubs in his cornfields. With 2,000 acres of farmland, he partners with his brother to manage corn, wheat, soybeans and alfalfa, along with a cow-calf operation.

Prior to joining NPKFAS, Buckley retired from CF Industries, where he served as the chief economist and director of agribusiness analysis for almost 30 years. He is past chair of the U.S. Grains Council and recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award. He earned a bachelor’s degree in forest management from Florida State University and graduate degrees in agriculture management and agricultural economics from the University of Florida. |
