WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — For 82 years, the Indiana FFA and its members have found within themselves Infinite Potential in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through their time spent in the FFA program.
This will be demonstrated at the 82nd Indiana FFA State Convention, June 13-15 at Purdue University. This three-day event provides an opportunity to reward Indiana’s finest students for their hard work and dedication in promoting agriculture and improving their academic and leadership skills.
The 9,500 FFA members from across the state will find many educational opportunities at the general sessions in the Elliott Hall of Music. This year’s keynote speakers include:
•Scott McKain - His speaking career began in the Crothersville FFA Chapter. He later served as the Indiana FFA State President and National FFA Secretary. Now a nationally syndicated television personality and best-selling business author, McKain has appeared on platforms in all 50 states and in 16 countries. •Ted McKinney – He serves as the Senior Director of Global Corporate Affairs for Elanco Animal Health. McKinney has a broad view of the agriculture industry and will share a message of agriculture’s promise and challenges as the critical task of feeding a hungry planet that is increasing in population. A past Indiana FFA state officer, McKinney will provide insight to how FFA members can proudly state “I believe in the future of agriculture.”
•National FFA President Riley Pagett - For the past year, this FFA member from Woodward, Okla. has helped to cultivate the seeds within each of the more than 500,000 FFA members while serving as the 2010-2011 National FFA President. In discussing his mission to inspire, Pagett explained, “After enrolling in agricultural education courses, I realized that FFA was the perfect organization to assist me with my dream of becoming a ‘seed planter.’ I am prepared and look forward to the opportunity to plant seeds in FFA members.” All plan to share their perspective on this year’s Infinite Potential theme for the FFA members, advisors and guests throughout the convention.
FFA Members will also have a chance to be recognized for their accomplishments throughout the Convention within their Career Development Events, Supervised Agriculture Experiences, and chapter activities. For the complete FFA Convention Agenda or more information, go to www.indianaffa.org
