CHARLESTOWN, Ind. — Antique tractors and a four-wheel-drive pickup were among the popular items for the 300 buyers who attended a recent estate sale in Clark County, Ind.
Five of the tractors were John Deere models in varying condition that had been manufactured between 1937 and 1959.
Lined up after the group of JDs was an International Harvester Farmall Cub tractor with blade, belly mower, cultivator, plow and sickle mower accessories. Further along was a 2007 New Holland TC 30HP model tractor with only 35 hours on the three-cylinder, diesel engine. The lot included a matching loader.
These tractors earned the following prices: •2007 New Holland – $10,750 •1937 John Deere D – $1,100 •1937 John Deere A – $900 •1950 John Deere A – $1,600 •1958 John Deere 720 Diesel – $3,250 •1959 John Deere 630 – $3,000 •IH Farmall Cub – $1,050
A dark blue, 1993 Toyota four-wheel-drive, short-bed pickup truck captured the bidders’ attention. Auctioneer Doug Harritt said the Toyota was sold for $4,950.
The blue, cloth interior was clean, and it had a four-cylinder engine with a five-speed transmission. The pickup had been driven for more than 69,000 miles.
A fully intact 1970s vintage Allis-Chalmers Roto Baler reached a high price of $550. First marketed in the late 1940s, this Allis-Chalmers machine was the first tractor-pulled baler to produce round bales. This model had a “white top.”
Three, three-wheel John Deere plows sold separately in a range between $225-$325. All were single-bottom plows, and only one of them had been restored.
Also from the estate were two Stihl chainsaws and one Husqvarna chainsaw, which brought between $175 and $400 each. An Echo gas blower and hedge trimmer, as well as other yard tools, sold for an undisclosed dollar amount. |
