Ohio Dairy Palooza for wide age range of children, May 4

WOOSTER, Ohio — The 2013 Dairy Palooza sponsored by Ohio 4-H Dairy and Ohio State University extension is scheduled for May 4, at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wooster.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., with the clinics under way at 10 a.m. The event is open to youth, from Cloverbuds to 18 years of age. Parents and advisors are also invited to attend the event.

During the day, clinics will cover topics including farm safety, feeding and nutrition, reproduction, biosecurity, record-keeping, dairy foods, inoculations and health, clipping and fitting, mating, communications, selecting a dairy animal and careers in the dairy industry.

There will be a career expo with representatives from several organizations to discuss jobs in agriculture and the dairy industry. This year, Dairy Palooza is approved as a dairy quality assurance accredited event for Ohio and sessions for all age groups will be throughout the day.

The cost of the event is $5 and includes lunch, snacks and resource materials. Walk-ins will be accepted at the event for $7, but reference materials may not be available.
