www.farmworldonline.com includes new photo gallery
By MEGAN KUHN
Assistant Editor

KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. — Farm World’s website - www.farmworldonline.com - boasts a new Image Gallery, with photography from Farm World contributors.

Located on the front page of the Farm World website, the Image Gallery features a set of photos from the weekly newspaper. The gallery is updated each Wednesday.

“Often we have more photos than we can publish in the paper each week,” said Dave Blower Jr., editor of Farm World newspaper. “The Image Gallery allows our readers to see more of the great photos our correspondents send us each week.”

Nature scenes from eastern Kentucky grace this week’s gallery. The photos are courtesy of Kentucky Correspondent Tim Thornberry.

Photos featured in the Image Gallery have included shots of Promised Land Farm’s turkey herd by Indiana Correspondent Susan Blower and wild bird photos from Thornberry.

Previous weeks’ images are also available on the website, in the “Photo Archives” under the “News” heading at the top of the homepage.

The Image Gallery and Photo Archives are available to anyone visiting www.farmworldonline.com

Subscribers to Farm World newspaper can register at www.farmworldonline.com and get access to a bevy of other information, including current news articles, auction and classified word ads, auction calendar and more.

The website, launched in mid-October, features a powerful search engine. This engine will speed through every classified word ad, auction sale bill and newspaper story for the item requested by the visitor.

In addition to the search engine, the website will also archive Farm World news stories, recipes and columns.

From the news side, the website will include commodity prices from the Chicago Board of Trade and other exchanges, daily weather forecasts from the AccuWeather Network and updated news releases from the Purdue University Agricultural Communications Department.

The best features from the newspaper will be included, too. The opinions from Alan Guebert’s Food and Farm File and from Brownfield Network’s Gary Truitt will be archived. Also, the recipes that appear in the paper will be kept in an easy-to-search database within the website.

Always striving to provide the best service, Farm World will continue to add new elements to the website during the next few months. For those who experience technical difficulties in accessing the new website, please call Steve Haines at 1-800-876-5133.
