Rambler car announces three new different sizes of cars for 1965: the Rambler Ambassador, the largest and finest of the new Ramblers; Rambler Classic, new intermediate-sized; and the Rambler American, the compact economy king. All available now at Abner Motor Sales, Knightstown, Ind.

A 1,200-acre development, including a 240-acre lake area, to be known as “Lake Santee” will provide a vacation home and recreational area for residents of southeastern Indiana. It is located in Decatur County and a small section of tract is located in Franklin County. It is named for the famous Indiana chief, Santee. The completion date is scheduled for next year.

1974

Merlin Karlock, a Newton County landowner who resides in Momence, Ill., has purchased the 10,110-acre Fair Oaks Farms in Jasper and Newton counties. Fair Oaks is an agriculture and cattle spread that runs for about five miles along both sides of Interstate 65. The farm was purchased from Morin Corp. of North Miami, Fla., for $5.25 million and Karlock plans to combine this purchase with his E&M Farms in Newton County, making the 20,000-acre spread the largest farm in Indiana.

The Burn Treatment Skin Bank in Phoenix, Ariz., is processing fresh pigskins into topical dressing for burns, called xenografs. The dressings are prepared from 5- to 6 month-old hogs yielding healthy hides.

State Veterinarian Dr. Don Notter of Harrodsburg, Ky., was selected as the 1989 Kentucky Veterinarian of the Year by the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Assoc., at its Mid-American Conference held in Louisville.
