HOLLAND, Mich. — It was a long time coming, but the barn at the Careerline Tech Center (CTC) is finally ready for livestock. The barn was initially used as a livestock learning laboratory when the center opened more than 30 years ago. Later it was turned into a storage barn, filled with obsolete equipment, old computers and more, discarded by programs within the building when the program redirected into horticulture and floriculture. After six years of preparation, planning and waiting, the Ag and Environmental Science program finally has its barn back and is moving forward with learning projects afforded students by raising livestock. Members of the FFA, school administrators and community helped celebrate the new barn at a ribbon cutting ceremony held in conjunction with the annual fall CTC open house on Oct. 28. |
