WRP-Restricted easment in Indiana sells for $640 an acre

OWENSBORO, Ky. — In Warren County, Ind., 147.46 acres of land with a permanent restrictive easement by virtue of a Wetland Reserve Program (WRP) agreement recently sold for $94,375, or $640 per acre, to an investor/hunter from Indianapolis.
The WRP easement restricts the land to hunting only, precluding the landowner from farming of any kind, building any structures or from any type of development. Before the WRP agreement, 65 percent of this acreage was farmed, with the balance in wooded sloughs and creeks. “This auction is a good indicator for WRP-restricted land,” said Joe Mills, auctioneer.
Mills may be contacted at Kurtz Auction & Realty Co. at joe@kurtzauction.com or 800-264-1204, or online at www.kurtzauction.com
Farm equipment auction tops $7.4 million

SIDNEY, Neb. — An auction of farm equipment drew 672 registered bidders last week, resulting in total sales of just over $7.4 million, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Co. managing the auction.
“We had live bidders from 15 states, plus online bidders from 28 states, as well as Canada and Uruguay,” said Zach Hiner, one of the managers for the auction.
The seller was 21st Century Equipment, which had an oversupply of used equipment resulting from its recent acquisition of several other John Deere dealerships.
The inventory included approximately 20 tractors and 16 combines, as well as corn heads, trucks, sprayers and other equipment.
Upcoming Schrader equipment auctions are set for Nov. 29 (Antwerp, Ohio), Dec. 5 (West Liberty, Ohio), Dec. 9 (Union Mills, Ind.), Dec. 11 (Mount Vernon, Ohio), and Dec. 17 (Washington Court House, Ohio). Those wanting additional information may visit www.schraderauction.com or call 800-451-2709.
