Rex Sigler February 4, 1929-April 13, 2015 Rex Sigler, a longtime resident of Cambridge City, Ind., passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great-papaw. Rex was born in Elwood, Ind., to Roliff and Katy Sigler on Feb. 4, 1929. He graduated from Frankton High School in 1946 and then his family relocated to the Shirley, Ind., vicinity. That is where he met his wife, Lavon (Patton), to whom he was happily married for 62 years. Rex graduated from Reppert’s School of Auctioneering in 1948. He worked as an auctioneer for the Knightstown Sale Barn and the Henry County Livestock Auction for many years. He also conducted auctions in Wayne County and surrounding counties for 65 years. He retired from MoorMan’s Mfg. Co. where he worked as a contract trucker for 46 years. After retiring, he worked part-time for Balanced Line Casket Co. Rex was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cambridge City and was also a member and past president of the Cambridge City Evening Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed vacationing in Gatlinburg, Tenn., several times a year, visiting the area where he made several friends who were like family. He was interested in what his family was doing and enjoyed their company. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife; a daughter, Jane (Bob) Myers of Milton, Ind.; a son, John (Diana) Sigler of Carmel, Ind.; five grandchildren, Tiffany (Preston) Kibbey, Brian (Julie) Myers and Michael, Katie and Steven Sigler; five great-grandchildren, Kyla, Alyssa and Chloe Kibbey and Jimmy and Luke Myers; and several nieces and nephews, including Suzanne (Joe) Farrell of Lafayette, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ruth Sigler; and a niece, Carol Sigler. Friends may call on April 17 from 3-7 p.m. and the funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on April 18, at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Cambridge City or the Cambridge City Library.
