April 11-14: The American Feed Industry Assoc. will host a hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) training April 11-12 and a FAMI-QS Awareness in Feed Safety course immediately following, April 13-14, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Des Moines Airport in Des Moines, Iowa. The HACCP training is accredited by theInternational HACCP Alliance. The FAMIQS program is benchmarked against the European Commission feed regulations, which allows for exporters and importers to gain entry into new internationalmarkets with greater ease and success. April 18-May 9: The University of Tennessee Center for Profitable Agriculture will conduct “E-commerce for Direct Farm Marketers” workshops in Memphis (April 18) and Jonesborough (May 9). Both workshops will be 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. local time. Register (https://tiny.utk.edu/ecommerce) by April 13 for Memphis and by May 4 for the Jonesborough workshop. May 2: Producers planning to sell meat directly to consumers have some free training available. A University of Tennessee Extension workshop will begin at 6:30 p.m. CDT at the Tennsco Community Center in Dickson, Tenn. The information will apply to beef, pork, lamb and goat meat, but will not be relevant to poultry producers. Preregistration is required.
