June 7-8: Farmers can learn more about drainage water management during the Drainage Field Day at the Davis Purdue Agricultural Center (DPAC), 6230 N. State Road 1, Farmland, Ind. Contractors will demonstrate proper bedding of field tile, making tile connections properly and techniques for leveling soil over installed tile. Purdue Extension specialists will discuss the results of 12 years of drainage water management research conducted at DPAC, including impact on crop yields and water quality. June 12: The Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) will host a Bovine Tuberculosis Informational Meeting for cattle owners with herds in Core Surveillance Areas (3-mile-radius circles around three sites where TB-infected animals were identified in 2016 and the risk of exposure to TB is higher) at 6:30 p.m. in the Franklin County Community High School Auditorium, 1 Wildcat Lane, Brookville, IN 47012. Sept. 12-14: The American Feed Industry Assoc.’s 46th annual Liquid Feed Symposium will be in Louisville, Ky. The symposium is ideal for networking, as it is the largest and longest-running event of its kind. Additionally, a person is inducted into the Liquid Feed Hall of Fame each year at the symposium. June 11-13: Teens are invited to attend Ohio Forestry and Wildlife Conservation Camp, which is held at FFA Camp Muskingum on Leesville Lake in Carroll County, Ohio. Camp costs $375, with sponsorships available to assist interested students who need help covering the fee. Sponsorships are offered through local SWCD offices, sportsmen’s clubs, forestry groups and many private forestry-sector businesses.
