1 Corinthians 15:57-58 “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” Life is filled with a variety of experiences. Some are good and some are bad. Wouldn’t it be great if you could always be assured of a positive ending? Abigail’s high school volleyball team has had a great season this year – in fact, one of the most successful seasons in the past forty years. Yet even in the midst of our success there have been some disappointments. Some weeks produced one day with an overwhelming and invigorating victory and the next with a devastating loss. Sometimes even after giving the game every ounce of strength and mental will power available, the final few points remained elusive. Life also has its shares of ups and downs. We will have moments where things seem to flow smoothly and our spirits soar on eagle’s wings. Other times the day starts wrong and gets progressively worse from there. We can’t always predict how a string of events will fall into place. Sometimes no matter how hard you try, difficulty will find you and try to pull you down. Whatever your experience may be, don’t give up. Despite the ups and downs of life, we know how the game is going to end. Thanks be to God! In Christ we will have the final victory. Even in death, the worst tragedy of all, we can be assured of a win, for those who know Christ as Savior will rise from the grave to live forever. Volleyball season is winding down and the final record is up for grabs. No one knows for sure how things will pan out. But one thing is certain and true. You can enter into the game of life with the full assurance of an ultimate win. God made certain of this when He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to earth. So don’t give up. Your labor is not in vain. The prediction is for certain victory in Jesus. Sandra Sheridan is a Midwest wife and mother of five. She shares her messages to her children with Farm World. Visit her at www.VersesFromMama.com |
