Dale M. Haley

November 12, 1950-August 8, 2018

Dale Haley, 67, of Rush County, passed away on August 8, 2018, in Rushville, Ind. He was born on Nov. 12, 1950, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Murphy and Irene (Shiplet) Haley. He was a Ross High School graduate.

Dale married his loving wife, Julie (Bunch) Haley, on May 29, 1998, and she survives. Dale was the owner and operator of the Rushville Horse Sale Barn and Rafter H Rodeo Company. He enjoyed coaching Babe Ruth baseball for many years in Rushville.

Dale also enjoyed trading horses and being a stock contractor for the rodeo and rodeo producer. He was also an auctioneer and involved in many benefit auctions. He was a 40-plus-year member of the International Professional Rodeo Assoc. and multiple other rodeo associations. Within these groups he earned bareback, saddle bronc and bull of the year, along with Stock Contractor of the Year and Rodeo of the Year.

Dale is also survived by his sons, Eric Tallent of Rushville, Andy (Angie) Tallent of Morristown and Gus Haley of Rushville; sisters Joyce (Dale) Adams of Marion and Janet Mullins of Hamilton, Ohio. He will also be missed by his two granddaughters, Jamie and Gracie Tallent.

Dale is preceded in death by his brother, Carlton Haley.

Mass of Christian Burial was on August 13 in St. Marys Catholic Church, with Father James Brockmeier presiding and Moster Mortuary handling arrangements. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made out to the St. Marys Catholic School or Sheehan Cancer Center in memory of Dale.
