Auctioneer's Call

Illinois auction attracts national buyers

MULKEYTOWN, Ill. — More than 200 energetic buyers from eight states visited the Haney Auction Service lot in Mulkeytown, Ill. to see and bid on used farm equipment of every size, shape and model.

Buyers from Alabama, Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and Tennessee attended the consignment auction in southern Illinois, where
many took home used items from the diverse sale.

The public consignment auction featured several items ranging from tractors, trucks, trailers, lawn mowers, welders and tillage equipment.

Quinton Haney, 23 led the auctioneering during the sale, where he captured the winning bid of $5,250 for a 1969 Chevy two-ton dump truck. The vintage dump truck was purchased by a buyer located in Florence, Ala.

Other highlights included a: Case 1070 with duals for $4,500; Allis Chalmers D15 for $3,500; John Deere 2010 row-crop for $3,100; M.M. U302 tractor for $2,800 and an I.H. 555 PTO-driven manure spreader for $1,375.

Colorado land: $2.193 million
 
LAMAR, Colo. — Roger Brining, of Westchester Auctions, LLC. conducted a land auction this spring in Kiowa and Prowers counties of Colorado on March 8.

Nearly 5,127 acres of dryland and CRP ground was offered at the auction in 12 tracts ranging in size from 160 to 930 acres each.

In total for the Colorado ground, Brining said the tracts sold for approximately $2.193 million or $428 per acre.
