Dairy association wins marketing award COLUMBUS, Ohio — The “Healthy Rewards” dairy promotion campaign at central Ohio Kroger stores is the winner of the 2008 Achievement In Marketing (AIM) award from the American Marketing Assoc. (AMA) in two categories – best loyalty/retention marketing effort and best sales promotion.
The American Dairy Assoc. Mideast (ADAM) created Healthy Rewards to reinforce the “3-A-Day of Dairy” message and encourage consumers to buy increased quantities of dairy by offering special monthly incentives from community partners. When making a qualifying purchase of milk, cheese and yogurt at central Ohio Kroger stores, the purchaser earns a Healthy Reward from some of the best entertainment venues in central Ohio. The Healthy Rewards campaign resulted in an increase of more than 2.5 million pounds of milk sold in 2008 over the previous year.
ADAM is the regional dairy promotion program funded by approximately 3,400 dairy farmers in Ohio and West Virginia. Its purpose is to increase sales and demand for dairy products and ingredients through advertising, marketing, nutrition education and research.
Applicants sought as 2010 ASA/DuPont Young Leaders ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The American Soybean Assoc. (ASA) and Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, are seeking applicants for the 2010 Young Leader Program. The 2010 class of Young Leaders and their spouses will participate in a challenging and educational leadership experience Dec. 6-9 at Pioneer headquarters in Johnston, Iowa, and then complete training March 2-6, 2010, in Anaheim, Calif., in conjunction with the annual Commodity Classic. This program offers the opportunity for participants to enhance their leadership skills as well as meet and learn from other Young Leaders from around the country and Canada.
The program selects farmers who are innovative, assertive, “young” (or new) to leadership and looking to make their mark in agriculture. A majority go on to serve as state or national directors in the soybean association or checkoff boards, and many are active in regional or county organizations.
