Ohio farms, foliage and food highlight 2009 tour

ASHLAND, Ohio — Ashland County Farm Bureau will host its 2009 Drive-It-Yourself Farm Tour on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 4 from 12:30-6 p.m.

Stop 1 is the Johnny Appleseed Heritage Center, 2179 State Route 603, Ashland. Located south of Mifflin and north of State Route 39, the center offers a chance to learn more about one of the area’s most colorful pioneers.

Stop 2 is Dan and Lei Harlan’s woodlot. Located at Township Road 2156 in Ashland, the Harlans will discuss how they manage their woodlot using best management practices.

Stop 3 is Aberdeen Alpacas, 645 Township Road 2104 in Loudonville.

Stop 4 is Top Line Arabians, 2266 State Route 60 in Loudonville.
Stop 5 is Mohican Valley Haflingers, 468 Township Road 2252, Loudonville.

Stop 6 is Scenic Ridge Fruit Farm, 2031 State Route 89 in Jeromesville. Enjoy fresh Ohio fruit while visiting this orchard.

Stop 7 is J&L Cattle Services, 334 Township Road 1922 in Jeromesville.

Stop 8 Kinsey Valley Farms, 1424 County Road 175 near Jeromesville.

Stop 9 is Cool Springs Wildlife Conservation Park, County Road 37 near Loudonville.

Stop 10 is Idyl Wild Farms Inc., an organic dairy, 269 Township road 2450 in Loudonville.

Stop 11 is Circle T Farm, 2764 State Route 60 near Loudonville.

Stop 12 is Clairlyn Holsteins, 727 County Road 2404 near Loudonville.
