Indiana farm ground sells for $489K
EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Kurtz auctioned 333 acres of pasture and hunting land in Perry County, Ind. for $489,050.00 or $1,469 per acre. This land was along Oil Creek adjoining the Hoosier National Forest and sold in nine tracts.  It had a few barns and old earcorn bins that contributed very little to the sale price.  There were four buyers, neighboring farmers and investors, that purchased the tracts.

Clay Taylor, Mike Melloan and Bill Kurtz were the auctioneers representing Kurtz for this auction.  Kurtz had 1,800 hits on their website and over 220 registered bidders for the land and some farm machinery.

Kurtz Auction and Realty Company is a regional auction marketing firm with a history going back to 1945.  For more information on auction results and scheduled auctions, go to www.kurtzauction.com or contact the office at 800-264-1204.

Central Illinois farm family to sell final 3,000 acres
HILLSBORO, Ill. — On Nov. 17, the final 3,055 acres of Kilton Farms, Inc. was sold to a private buyer.

In January 2009, Aumann Auctions sold the first half of the Kilton Farms Inc. holdings for more than $24.9 million. This consisted of about 4,000 acres of highly productive farmground. The farmground averaged $6,255 per acre, which is higher than the 2008 Illinois state average farmland price of $5,000 per acre.
Farmland and recreational acreage are part of the 3,000 acres that will be sold in the second half of the Kilton Farms auction in November. Of the 3,000 acres, 2,000 are tillable farmland with the remaining being recreational and timber ground.

This recreational land is home to some of the area’s biggest bucks and has been featured in magazines and outdoor television shows. All of the recreational ground has been managed under the guidelines of the Quality Deer Management Assoc. and has been leased in recent years to CIO Outdoors.

The auction took place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 11198 IL Route 185 in Hillsboro, Ill. For full results, visit www.aumannauctions.com
