ILLINOIS
Feb. 7: Small Farm Dreams is a four hour interactive workshop in which prospective farmers assess their readiness to begin a farming enterprise and plan their next steps for getting started at Shawnee College in Ullin, Ill. The cost is $30. Register at eatsouthernillinois.org

Feb. 7: University of Illinois Extension will be offering an online educational series for the basics of fruit insect management. It provides practical knowledge on emerging topics to advance local food production in Illinois. Feb. 11: University of Illinois Extension and University of Wisconsin Extension will host the 17th annual Stateline Fruit and Vegetable Growers Conference at Midway Village Museum in Rockford, Ill. Feb. 15: University of Illinois Extension will host a workshop on soil fertility from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will be taught via distance education in Oregon, Dixon, Milan, Princeton, Galesburg, Bloomington, Champaign, Quincy, Jacksonville, Springfield, Hillsboro and Murphysboro, Ill., and feature specialists from Illinois and Missouri. An application has been made for five hours of CCA continuing education credit in nutrient management. Registration is $50 per person is due by Feb. 11.
