Dean (Bud) Lester has been named the top senior agriculture student at Union High School and has received the DeKalb Agriculture Award of Ag Research, Inc. Dean, the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Lester of Modoc, will farm with his grandfather after graduation.

Herbicides stolen from the Moultrie-Shelby County FS warehouse in Stewardson, Ill., valued at $13,624, have partially been recovered as a result of a theft-deterrent container code identification system introduced by Monsanto Co. and in use by farm chemical dealers.
Several small tornadoes struck last month in portions of Indiana, causing hundreds of dollars in damage. Nobody was hurt in the twisters, which occurred at the south edge of Greenwood, at Lebanon, Bloomington and Loontz Lake near South Bend.
