Farm Foundation®, an accelerator of practical solutions for agriculture, will host its next virtual forum, Green Energy Pitfalls and Payouts on the Farm, Feb. 23 from 9-11 a.m. CDT.

Tyne Morgan, host of Farm Journal’s U.S. Farm Report, will moderate the panel, which will include diverse perspectives from these expert contributors:

Shannon Ferrell, agricultural economics professor, Oklahoma State University

Howard Halderman, president and CEO, Halderman Farm Management Service

Garrett Thalgott, corporate law attorney, Illinois Farm Bureau

During the session, the panel will discuss topics such as issues farmers and investors face regarding green energy opportunities on the farm, including where there might be strategies for diversification and where farmers might need to be cautious. Audience members will be invited to submit questions for the panelists to answer live during the event.

“Never before have stakeholders in the agricultural system been faced with such a wide variety of options when it comes to diversifying energy and revenue generation on the farm,” said Martha King, Farm Foundation vice president of programs and projects. “This panel will present a balanced consideration of the available options and a nuanced discussion of the elements that come to bear.”
