WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Indiana Sheep Association (ISA) will host their Annual Lambing School on Saturday, September 12 at Purdue University’s Sheep Unit in West Lafayette.

The statewide workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST. 

Anyone is welcome to register, regardless of experience level, to learn the skills and methods required to successfully manage a lambing ewe during lambing season. Extension Educator Jamie Reed and Purdue Vet School assistant professor Laura May, DVM, will instruct and supervise the workshop. 

This year, the Lambing School features:

*Tools and supplies a shepherd needs to be prepared for the lambing season

* How to troubleshoot problem births

* When calling a veterinarian in to help is appropriate

* Hands-on practice with real fall-lambing ewes

*Dystocia simulators

A registration fee of $20 will cover the cost of the workshop and lunch. The class will be capped at 15 students, so please RSVP to executive@indianasheep.com to reserve your spot.
