Adele’s latest work earns praise from music lovers

BITTERSWEET, Ky. — Like any good mechanic, you have to have many different tools in your tool box to do your job.
Like a good farmer, you often have to grow a variety of crops to help ensure success year after year.
Now before you call the guys in the white coats on me, hear me out, I’m making a point here. While it doesn’t happen often, I do stray away from my country roots on occasion. I actually do have a love for a variety of musical genres. There are lots of musical tools in my tool box.
Besides, the music world seems to be concentrated on one particular artist this week, as well as it should, so there was really no other choice but to talk about a lady simply known as Adele.
Her newest CD titled 25 is just about all the music world has talked about since it was released earlier this month. It has broken nearly all sales records and has put her in a class all by herself.
Adele has a sassiness about her voice that makes her very distinctive but she can bring you to tears with her moving ballads.
Granted, Adele is far from being called “country” but her second album, 21, had a hint of country flavor to it. But good is good, or I should say, great is great, whether it is on the country, pop, soul or whatever chart.
This young lady can sing like no one else and because of that talent she is likely the most recognized singer in the universe at the moment.
I think what I like best about Adele is her persona. Her voice and manner is far more mature (it’s not good to say older when referring to a lady) than her years. My momma would have referred to her as having an old soul.
Whatever the case is, I know people her age still sitting at home playing video games, and this young woman from England is changing the world of music. This is quite an accomplishment for someone so young. She is 27, by the way.
She has won nearly every award available to entertainers including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and numerous Grammys. She is also a person giving back charitably to many causes. It’s good to see someone of her stature giving something back to the world.
Regardless of what genre you place her music in, she is one of the most talented artists I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.
My hat is off to Adele for many reasons and a big A+ goes out to her. But I’d love to see her sing a few Dolly Parton songs and show up at the Grand Ole Opry one night.
